It began with mutiny of sepoys of the British Eats India Company's army. It erupted other mutiny's. There was a lot that caused the rebellion but the one that really set it off was that the British gave the sepoys weapons but to load them they had to bite open the packaged ammo and the package was made out of cow and pig fat which is against the Hindu's and Muslim religions to eat those animals. They rebelled for about a little over a year but The East India regained power again.
