Imperialism helped the world by giving other colonies the chance to learn a new culture, or get a new government. It also gave us new goods, new places to trade and get the goods. It also helped out in travel by getting a new water way around Africa. Some of the good things could also be considered bad, like colonies learning new cultures might be good to some but the way it happened wasn't good, they were forced to and some find that disrespectful and they were not happy with it at all. Same with the government, some might now not of wanted a new government, and lose power to there territory. The goods part wasn't good because we basically forced them to get the goods and we took it from them to use with trading. The waterway made it worse cause it made it easier for countries to get into Africa and take over a territory.
